2012 Duck Race

It’s getting close to that time of year again when the Hutt River is flooded with thousands of little yellow plastic ducks. As per previous years we are having both the classic Great NZ Englefield Duck Race and the Corporate Duck Race which this year is proudly supported by Zeal Commercial Interiors, the winners from last years race.

The Duck Race Course

The annual duck race starts from Melling Bridge in Lower Hutt at 11am on Sunday 15th April. The ducks will then “race” down to the finish line at Ewen Bridge. Prize giving is held at 1pm at the Petone Working Men’s Club, 47 Udy St, Petone. The race is a great family day out with bouncy castles and sausage sizzles at Ewen Bridge.

So what are you waiting for? Get yourself a piece of the action and get your classic duck for $5 or dress up your corporate duck for $200 (inc gst) and have a quacking good time. There are great prizes up for grabs and funds raised on the day go to four local charities.
